ESSENTIAL CAR CARE - Part TWO

To keep your car looking good and performing well, OzFreeOnline offers you suggestions on checking the Coolant (Antifreeze) level as well as the engine oil level.

COOLANT (ANTIFREEZE) LEVEL

Never open the radiator of a car that has just been running. The cooling system of a car is under high pressure with fluid that is usually hotter than boiling water. Look for the cooling system reserve tank, somewhere near the radiator. It is usually translucent white so you can see the fluid level without opening it. (Do not confuse it with the windshield washer tank). The reserve tank will have two marks on the side of it. ‘FULL HOT’ and ‘FULL COLD.’ If the level frequently goes below ‘full cold’ after adding fluid, you probably have a leak, which should be checked as soon as possible. Today’s engines are much more susceptible to damage from overheating, so do not neglect this important system.

ENGINE OIL LEVEL

An engine cannot run without oil; oil is what prevents serious engine damage or total destruction! To check the oil level, make sure that the engine is turned off, then find the engine oil dipstick and remove it. With a paper towel or rag, wipe off the end of the stick and notice the markings on it. You will usually see a mark for ‘Full’ and another mark for ‘Add.’

Check your owner’s manual to be sure. Push the stick back into the tube until it sets, then immediately pull it out to see the oil level. You should not add oil unless the level is below the ‘Add’ mark and NEVER add oil to bring the level above the ‘Full’ mark. Your main concern with this check is that oil consumption is not rapidly increasing. If it is, take your car to a repair shop as soon as possible and have it checked out. It is acceptable for the oil to be dark as long as you change it at the recommended intervals. However, it should never be foamy and should never have a strong petrol smell. If either of these conditions exists, have it checked out soon.

Your online dating profile photo is the most important part of your profile. Surveys have been conducted where the results prove you are 10 times more likely to get your profile looked at by someone searching on the online dating service when they can see you. This isn’t the only reason why you should have your photo uploaded, there are many more.

Some singles will think they have a good reason not to upload their photo. They might be embarrassed about putting their profile on a dating web site, or feel their photo will hinder their chances of finding a date. Whatever reasons you think you have for not uploading your profile photo not many other singles will see them as good.

Most singles when they first register themselves at a dating web site will fill in the basics so they can start searching the profiles. Then you get the singles who are looking for someone who still only fills in the basics so they can start searching. When other singles see these profiles they will just ignore them. The reason being they just think you’ve registered to search the profiles. Your profile will not look like you’re seriously looking for a date.

If other singles see you have no profile photo they can automatically assume you’re hideously ugly. In which case they will not want to click on your profile. Looks aren’t the be-all and end-all of a relationship but that initial spark usually comes from being attracted to someone’s looks. It’s the first thing on your profile anyone will notice. If there’s no photo they’ll just look for one with a photo.

Online dating services will give singles with a photo on their profile priority in other single’s searches. They are running a business so they’re not going to put a load of search results on someone’s screen with no photos on them. They want singles to get together so their dating service becomes a success. Other singles can specify that they don’t want to be contacted by singles without a photo on their profile so you won’t come up in their search results at all.

Other singles can also assume you’re hiding your face because you’re already in a relationship. Some married people or those in a relationship go online to have affairs. Uploading your photo shows you’re honest and have nothing to hide. Online dating services will advise you in their own help sections to avoid contacting singles with no photo. They want to keep everything as honest and up front as possible.

With your online dating profile photo you keep the dating web sites happy, and keep the other singles clicking on your profile. If you don’t make either of these happy you won’t get the results you’re after. You’re there to find a partner so make it look like you’re looking for one.

I read one of your articles about how to keep my boyfriend interested in me sexually. You said to try to change things up but honestly I feel like I just want to be myself because if he fell in love with who I am then why should I change just for him to show interest in me again?

He says that he would like a challenge and play hard to get sometimes and to tell him no more but, I feel like I’m playing games and I’m not exactly into it. Please try to help me figure out a way to get his interest back for me without me having to feel like I have to put on an act and be someone I’m not.

Let me tell you a little story:

One day, this inventor created the world’s greatest mousetrap. Never before had anyone ever seen anything so impressive! He was very proud of his work and just knew that he’d become a multi-millionaire because of how great his new invention was.

The problem was that nobody bought it.

If it was so great, why didn’t anyone buy it? Simple: it cost $200 each and was so complicated to use that nobody could figure it out.

So, rather than change his mousetrap, he went about trying to convince everyone how great it was, but they didn’t listen to him. They said nice things to placate him, but in fact, they still didn’t buy his mousetrap.

Finally, as an old man at the end of his life, he was just bitter that everyone else was “stupid” and just couldn’t see his vision.

.and everyone kept buying mousetraps for $1 that were “good enough”.

So, why did I tell you that story? You’re becoming that inventor. You’re convinced that your boyfriend should just like everything about you without you having to change or grow or do anything. You shouldn’t give him what he’s asking for because it means you have to do some work.

So, one day, he’ll dump you and go find some woman that WILL give him what he wants. Then, you’ll be left bitter and unhappy, believing that he’s “stupid” for not knowing what he had. Unfortunately, he’ll never know what he had because all he could see (and remember) was that girlfriend that didn’t want to put out any effort to be what he needed and she figured it should just be “good enough”.

There is nothing in this world that is more wasteful that this sort of attitude. It’s not an “act” or a put-on or anything like that to be what your boyfriend wants you to be! In fact, it’s all about relationship management.

Sure, you don’t want to have to be the only one that works hard to manage your relationship, but that doesn’t mean it takes no work whatsoever! Every relationship takes work and you know exactly what work yours needs. You should be very happy that your boyfriend actually TOLD you what he wants - many guys (and girls!) just think you should already know and get angry when you don’t!

Now, with all of that said, I’d caution you to get the REAL story from your boyfriend. Honestly, I seriously doubt that he always wants you to tell him “no”. Maybe he wants that once in a great while, but trust me; no man wants to have to constantly work for his partner’s affection!

This is likely his way of telling you something else. What that is, I don’t specifically know. Perhaps he wants to you to take on a character that challenges him where he has to become a little more aggressive with you or something like that.

Be careful about reading in the wrong thing here - go talk to him instead! Communication is THE aphrodisiac. Get a very clear picture of what he wants and then simply become that woman. You’ll never lose him if you do this, but you’re actually showing him the door if you don’t.

Hyperacusis makes life in a noisy and fast paced world really difficult to those who have it. Traveling, communicating and working can all become a challenge with so much noise around them. For example, traveling to and from work on a train will seem impossible without some sort of ear protection such as ear muffs. Even so these are not enough to block out certain frequencies.

So imagine your life not being able to go watch a movie at a cinema, or not being able to travel by planes and not even being able to attend big social events all because it’s ‘too’ noisy. How would your life be? Many people have to go through everyday life with this because of their condition.

Those with hyperacusis cannot simply walk away from noisy places because the volume of the entire environment is perceived as heightened and elevated from what any normal person would hear. This is where it starts to get painful.

Many people regard recruitment to be similar to hyperacusis, but the truth couldn’t be any farther. Recruitment is an abnormal growth of the awareness of volume surrounding a person thus making noisy environments seem uncomfortable. Also with recruitment comes a loss of hearing. Hyperacusis however, is a whole different story. Unlike recruitment where noisy surroundings and environments are perceived as uncomfortable, hyperacusis makes all sounds too loud.

Most patients of hyperacusis suffer from inner ear aches, ear pressure and bad headaches when their surroundings become too noisy to handle. This extra sensitive hearing condition causes many problems in the lives of people who unfortunately end up with it. Some of these are problems in relationships, family, social life and professional lives.

So as a patient of hyperacusis, life is not easy to cope with as things can get really noisy and painful. Also worth mentioning is that currently doctors have a very limited knowledge and understanding of this condition. This alone can make hyperacusis patients feel alone when in their struggle with this rare condition.

Men cheat women due to several reasons. Sometimes they do so because they have the opportunity. Cheating is typically done by three types of men: those with low self esteem, those who are unhappy at home and those who are afraid of commitment and are seeking ‘fun love’. According to the statistics on cheating spouses, 50 to 70% of married men (between 38 and 53 million men) have cheated or will cheat on their wives. One recent study found that 2/3 of the wives (26 to 36 million women) whose husbands were cheating had no idea their husbands were having an affair - largely because they failed to recognize their cheating signs.

Married men, particularly those in long term relationships, cheat mainly because they believe that having a short-term affair will resolve any problems temporarily they have at home and prevent them from ‘hurting’ anyone long term. The actual fact that their partner is already being hurt by their lack of attention and affection - and being prevented from finding love too - does not comes into the picture. There are three problems to this approach. First, it stops the major conflicts in the relationship being explored, acknowledged, and addressed. Second, it makes the situation worse because any contact only proves starkly what is already missing at home, especially sexually. Thirdly, it deliberately ignores the fact that the man is taking his affections elsewhere which begs the question: How does giving one’s self to someone else shows love and affection for the person left at home and, accord her due respect for her love and support?

Men who cheat women by keeping relationships stray through a conflict of perception. What their women perceive that men want from them may not be necessarily what those men actually desire, and women seldom seek to find out because they are afraid of the answers! So after the honeymoon period is over, when their desires have not been fulfilled, spouses soon seek it elsewhere. In the meantime the women who are affected turn on the men and blame them for their ‘bad’ behavior instead of looking into themselves to see where they have missed a connection and, at worse, getting out of their demoralizing situation. It is always easier to verify others because it stops us looking at ourselves, but women aren’t tied to philandering men. One very lucid example of a man cheating would be if a man were to regularly take one particular coworker out to lunch or dinner meetings. In most of the cases, it would be safe to assume that she offers him more than just a discussion about work. She is also probably providing him with emotional companionship, giving him an opportunity to share his thoughts and feelings.

Men who are cheating emotionally often begin to question whether or not they should be seeing that one particular woman as much as they are now. They know deep down inside really well that she means more to them than just a regular female friend would and thus feel a degree of guilt for seeing her.One in five married women has had a fling in the past, the highest numbers ever recorded, according to one group of researchers. In fact, the numbers of cheating wives has now equalled the statistics on cheating husbands. The majority of the human body is comprised of water and human beings can live only a very short time without water.

Water is a chemical substance that is essential to all known forms of life. It covers 71% of Earth’s surface. It is found in the oceans (saltwater) and polar ice caps, but it is also present as clouds, rain water, rivers, freshwater aquifers, lakes, airborne vapor and sea ice.

Of all the water in the world, only about 3% is drinkable by human beings. Of this small percentage, the majority is either wholly or partially polluted by natural or man made contaminants. The body requires H2O to survive but not the contaminants found in most drinking water.

What Are Your Choices For Drinking Water?

Most people in the United States face limited choices of drinking water. They can either drink tap water provided by the municipalities they live in or well water on their own land. Neither of these choices provides pure drinking water.

What Are the Different Types of Drinking Water?

Generally speaking there are three choices for drinking water available to the consumer:

* Tap Water (provided by local municipal water suppliers)
* Well Water (found in more rural areas of the country)
* Bottled Water (sold commercially throughout the country)

Tap Water:

Tap water comes from local rivers and streams and very often plants that recycle raw sewerage and other waste water. Because many rivers, streams and other groundwater sources are polluted by natural runoff and man made contaminants, and all waste water and raw sewerage contain high levels of bacteria, increasing levels of chlorine are required to kill bacterial and other harmful organisms.

Tap water is regulated by The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) an agency of the Federal Government but EPA regulations in no way require the elimination of contaminants. The EPA only sets minimum levels of contaminants (including chlorine) and the long term effects of these poisons on the human body are largely unknown. Well Water:

Well water is subject to the same types of natural and man made pollution as tap water but it is unregulated. The Commonwealth of Virginia, for example, strongly recommends chlorination and dechlorination of owner’s individual wells but mandatory compliance is not required. Well water is particularly subject to ground bacteria pollution through the wellhead itself. The use of chlorine adds unpleasant odors and taste to the well supplied drinking water.

Bottled Water:

There are many types of bottled drinking water on the market today with the result that some are good, some are bad and some are useless when it comes to providing pure drinking water.

Some unethical suppliers merely take tap water and bottle the water in small packages. These bottlers are able to charge a premium for tap water but the levels of contaminants are the same as in tap water.

Spring water:

The source of some bottled water is spring water and this term implies a fresh mountain spring of wholesome drinking water. Springs however, are subject to the same types and levels of natural and man made contaminants as tap and well water and the consumer does not get the benefit of pure water.

Purified water:

Purified water is the only water that that one should drink for their health and the health of their family. There are two processes used in order to purify water: distillation and reverse osmosis.

Distillation is a process whereby water is turned to steam and condensed leaving behind all contaminants and bacteria. Many countries without natural source water and the Department of Defense use distillation to provide pure drinking water.

Reverse osmosis is a process where by water is filtered through a very small filter and contaminants are removed but bacteria and trace elements are left in the water.

Distillation removes the water from the contaminants while reverse osmosis merely filters the water without removing all bacteria and other material.

Many experts believe that distillation is the best way to create pure water.

Conclusion:

If you are an individual interested in maintaining a healthy lifestyle or a parent that is concerned about the health of your family, you should consider adding purified water to your diet.

No other water source provides the purity your body needs.

Here it is again..the bittersweet holiday season. So….the age old question remains, dare I say, pokes its nagging head into our thoughts: oh no! What do I get for him/her???? They are not your friends and loved ones. Indirectly and unabashedly, they are the peripheral set of miscellaneous people in your life, that have in most cases, been acquired without choice or thought. They have been fated into your life by a husband, a shared office, or a friend’s friend. They are your in-laws, your co-workers, and others that you just know will get you a present. No matter how these miscellaneous and peripheral people have situated themselves into your life, whether on a daily or once-a-a-year basis; they are there and expecting a present, a token, a sentiment in return for whatever they are panicking to give to you this upcoming holiday season. Whether it’s fair or not, the fact remains, that you have to get them something.

So after many years of anguish and holiday panic over just what to buy for these “other” people that sneak up upon my Christmas/holiday list, I have decided upon the perfect gift, to both lower my annual blood pressure as well as keep all mutual webbed relationships at peace. And that is: ceramics, pottery, stoneware. Now, you may be thinking that giving these same people pottery every year, that you will become THAT person, talked about at water coolers and family newsletters; however, consider this… If the miscellaneous giftee of your piece of handmade pottery, finds the low-to-moderately-priced sentiment a welcome surprise, a thoughtful household addition, then not only will you score that year’s holiday, but for years to come. People have a way of remembering both particularly good and bad presents, and scarcely in between. Here are some reasons that pottery always seems to work, if not delight these almost sort-of loved ones, no matter how hard you think they are to buy for:

• Pottery is handmade and boasts a creative and artistic expression. People always think this is thoughtful even if you yourself did not create it.

• Pottery comes in a variety of forms, from decorative vases, clocks, ornaments, etc to functional dinnerware and planters.

• Certain potteries specialize in stoneware cookware and dinnerware pieces that are microwave, oven, and dishwasher safe.

• Stoneware pottery has been said to be better for you to cook/bake/store in, than plastic, metal, or glass; as it is an all-natural material: clay.

• Ceramic pottery can be personalized to add that special touch; whether you add their name, a brief ode, or a decoration that they would like. (For example, my mother-in-law likes dragonflies…)

• Pottery comes in so many pieces and forms, that if receiver either really enjoys the piece or just are very good at pretending they do; every year you can buy a new and different piece to build their collection.

• Pottery can seem very expensive, but can price reasonable. Handmade anything seems expensive, but ceramic pottery would surprise you. I’ve found a number of shops that boast beautiful handmade, hand glazed, and hand decorated pieces of pottery that should be a fortune, but to my chagrin are between $10-$60 per piece.

• Pottery pieces are one of a kind, so the chances of the person you are buying for either already having this piece or being given this piece is extremely rare…let’s face it, for most potteries, there will be able hands making the gift and not well-oiled machines bent on overproduction.

I can’t believe the mixed-messages our media-driven society sends regarding today’s topic. If you watch daytime television or Lifetime Network (which I don’t, whenever possible) you’ll be hit with commercials depicting some hot mommies doing their typical superhuman things, including dealing with several toddlers while looking good doing it. Then, watch late-night television (which I also don’t, whenever possible) and you’ll be hit with infomercials designed to make women feel self-conscious about what motherhood has done to their physical appearance.

Whatever.

You know by now how I feel about what the media has done to distort our concept of what really is attractive to the opposite sex. So make no mistake about it: Motherhood can be, and I would argue usually is, very sexy. In just about every way.

The low hanging fruit here (no, not that) is the rise of MILFdom in recent years. If you are unfamiliar with the term look it up elsewhere, but for all intents and purposes MILF = sexy mom. For some reason, and a good one, even younger guys have figured out that Stacey’s Mom Has Got It Going On.

That’s no joke either. If you are a 35 year old woman with an online profile, you might be getting “messages” from younguns who haven’t even cleared college age yet. No, this isn’t some weird (and recurring) software error. They’re digging you.

I have personally been out with several women in their thirties who had daughters at a very young age. These kids are now in high school. Each mama had a story to tell when I asked if there’s ever an issue when their daughters’ little boy friends meet mom. One woman even has a pact with her daughter that they won’t date anyone closer in age to the other than themselves. Hilarious, but true.

How about before a woman has even given birth-during her pregnancy? Yeah ladies, we know…us guys hear all the time how “fat, etc.” you are getting. You feel disgusting. Well, you aren’t. ESPECIALLY to the Dad. Now we aren’t talking about man-boy I/Js (Idiot/Jerks) here who either 1) are using a woman’s pending new family commitment (and the fact that presumably she wouldn’t dare leave him while in that “condition”) as an excuse to throw down with every chickie babe silly enough to let him have a piece, or… 2) …who are just flat out morons. Mama, if your man loves you, he loves you pregnant. When he tells you that you are beautiful, will you please believe it? That’s his kid going on in there! In fact, some guys are turned on by pregnant women in general, and there are Web sites to prove it.

If you look at scientific studies on how heterosexual men and women become attracted to one another, it often comes down to archetypal response to pointers of fertility. I mean, let’s face it: sexual attraction, from the natural aspect, comes down to procreation. S/he who is more fertile is more attractive. Fertility and gene-pool quality (which is another topic altogether) are what make us attractive to the opposite gender a lot of the time. So here it is-if you are a mom already, it makes sense that your proven fertility is going to make you attractive to men. If you want to argue with me on this, go for it, but I believe very strongly that this is the case. At the very least, men often are not turned off by the physical effects of pregnancy like many women somehow seem to believe. On top of all else, don’t be surprised that many guys–if they are man enough to admit it-actually have no issue with the stretch marks and any other evidence that you have been pregnant before. I personally believe that caesarian scars are sexy. And I’m not weird.

So is this only all about looking good? I really don’t think so. There is something about motherhood that changes a woman. Not all guys understand this pragmatically, but many respond positively to such things-even if subconsciously.

Everyone knows that confidence is a huge turn-on for both genders. And moms tend to learn life’s tough lessons about responsibility. Especially single moms. Any guy who wants to find an amazing woman–one with a confident attitude to take on the world with–should hang out with a single mom or two. ‘Nuff said.

And, you know what? It might not hurt to add how fatherhood tends to be a turn on for women also, especially…moms. Big surprise there, right? Have you ever noticed that moms and dads really tend to appreciate each other-even at the raw attraction level? Yeah, well, I’m a Dad…and I absolutely have.
